TRABZON YÖRESİNİN İSLAMLAŞMA SÜRECİ VE ZÂVİYELER – THE ISLAMIZATION OF TRABZON AND ISLAMIC MONASTERIES

Trabzon şehri ve çevresinin İslamlaşması sürecinde görev icra eden vakıf kurumlardan biri de zâviyelerdir. Fetih olayının gerçekleşmesinden sonra şehre ve çevresine yerleşen Müslüman gruplar arasında bulunan dervişler tarafından şehir ve çevresinde 7 zâviye tesis edilmiştir. Söz konusu vakıf kurumlar bir yandan halkın dinî ihtiyaçlarına cevap verirken diğer yandan da şehre gelip giden yolculara barınma ve beslenme konusunda hizmet etmişlerdir. Ayrıca Trabzon şehrinde yeni teşkil edilen iskan sürecine de fiilen katılmışlardır.

ABSTRACT

Monasteries are one of the foundations that served as a force during the process of Islamization. Seven monasteries are built in and around the city by dervishes among the Muslim groups of people that settled down in the city following the conquest. These foundations fulfilled the religious expectations of the folk as well as providing accommodation and nourishment for the people coming from and going to Trabzon.  Moreover, it played an active part in the process of settlement just begun in Trabzon
