ERZURUM VALİSİ MEHMET EMİN (YURDAKUL) BEY’İN ERZURUM-TRABZON YOLLARIYLA İLGİLİ BİR RAPORU (1912)

II. Meşrutiyetin ilanından sonra Erzurum’da görev yapan valilerden birisi de Mehmet Emin (Yurdakul) Bey’dir. Vali Mehmet Emin Bey 11 Mart 1912 tarihinde Dâhiliye Nezaretine yazdığı bir raporda Erzurum’un ulaşım problemlerini ele almıştır. Raporda valinin üzerinde durduğu en önemli nokta Erzurum-Rize yolunun bir an önce yapılma meselesidir. Mehmet Emin Bey bu sayede Doğu Anadolu, Güneydoğu Anadolu ile Karadeniz bölgesinin ekonomik faaliyetlerinin gelişeceğini ileri sürmüştür.

ABSTRACT

One of the governors who served in Erzurum after the announcement of the Second Constitutional Period was Mehmet Emin (Yurdakul). The governor dealt with the transportation problem of Erzurum. In a report which he wrote to the Ministry of Interiors Mehmet Emin pointed that the building of highway between Erzurum and Rize was an important issue for the region. Mehmet Emin Bey claimed that the road would help the economic development of the eastern Anatolia as a whole.
